Jimi Hendrix Estate Is in Court About Another Film on Jimi Hendrix
As if there weren’t already enough drama surrounding the unauthorized André 3000 portrayal of Jimi Hendrix in Jimi: All Is By My Side, the Hendrix family is clashing in court with a would-be producer of yet another film on the guitar hero. The family commissioned Gerald Goldstein to create a concert film based on the late rock star’s performances in Europe in 1969. After the Hendrix estate contributed more than half of the requested $2 million to get the movie made, Goldstein allegedly pulled out when he discovered it’d be a limited release.
