Rapper Cardi B appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday and gave unfiltered details about the difficulty of childbirth and how fame has hindered her ability to be a normal mom.
In July, the “I Like It” rapper gave birth to her first child, Kulture with her husband, rapper Offset. Although her three months of motherhood have been “the best,” Cardi said no one told her the truth about delivery.
“It was totally harder [than I imagined it would be],” she told Kimmel. “She broke my vagina…Why nobody tells you about those things?”
Despite the pain and the hard work of being a mom has been a highlight for the Bronx native. She told the late-night host she wanted to have three or four kids in her lifetime.
“There [are]certain things I want to do with my daughter,” the 26-year-old said. “I want to go to the beach with my baby. I want to take a stroll down the street with my baby. I just can’t because I don’t know who is next to me or who has certain intentions.”
The new-mom continued, “I don’t want to show my baby out to the public right now. I just want to protect her. I’m not mentally ready. Paparazzi is everywhere even in my a**hole. I would like to do normal things with my baby, but right now I have to keep it very low key.”
