Just minutes after Cardi B dropped her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, the body of work from the Bronx beauty went gold, all thanks to her 2017 hit, “Bodak Yellow.”
Chart Date reports the album received immediate certification because 10 track units = 1 album sale, and with the inclusion of “Bodak Yellow,” which has already moved 5 million units alone, the album has technically sold 500K units. These numbers, however, won’t factor into official first week numbers.
“Bodak Yellow” has 5m units certified by the RIAA. Because 10 track units = 1 album sale, the album has 500k+ units. These units will not be included in official first week numbers.

Similarly, Drake included crossover hit “Hotline Bling” on fourth album Views months after it’s release, bumping up his initial numbers significantly.
