Cardi B has never been ashamed of her past, previously admitting that her former life as a stripper provided an escape from her abusive ex while having several other pros, as well as cons. Regardless of the judgement that has followed, the Bronx-born rapper already knows how she’ll approach speaking to her unborn daughter about that time in her life, saying she’s going to be as honest as possible.
“I’m going to tell her everything. Everything,” Cardi told Rolling Stone. “You have a choice. I could maintain you. I could spoil you if you go to college. Or if you want to be independent, go ahead.”
When asked how she’d approach the conversation if her daughter actually wanted to become an exotic dancer, the “I Like It,” spitter says she’ll make sure her kid knows how degrading the profession can be.
“When you a teenager and you 18, 19, you can’t get no job that pays you more than $200 a week,” she continued. “‘You want to become a stripper? ‘Cause I became a stripper ’cause I ain’t have no choice. You gonna be getting your ass smacked by ni**as that have less money than you, less of an education than you, but they going to feel like they better than you because they feel like you need them. You want to live like that?’ That’s how I’m going to talk to my kid.”
