Cheadle, Elba, Rudolph, Others Land Emmy Nominations

Idris Elba, Don Cheadle, and Maya Rudolph were among the many star actors nominated for primetime Emmys. The announcement came this morning, as Jimmy Kimmel and Kerry Washington read the results.

Cheadle scored a Lead Actor In A Comedy Series nomination for his work on Showtime's "House Of Lies," a slick and sexy new series about a high-powered consulting firm. Elba's Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie nomination came for his role in the dark Brit crime drama "Luther," where Elba plays the title character. The always hilarious Rudolph landed her Guest Actress In A Comedy Series nomination for an appearance on "Saturday Night Live," the show where she became a household name.

The 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 23, 2012 at the Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California
