Childish Gambino earned his first number one single ont he Billboard Hot 100 for “This is America,” according to Billboard.
The song’s success was driven in large part by its buzzworthy, and now co-opted, music video that premiered following his performance on Saturday Night Live on May 5.
Gambino, who’s the music alter ego of Donald Glover, was able to end Drake’s streak on the Billboard Hot 100. The rapper’s “God’s Plan” spent 15 weeks on top and his “Nice for What” spent four weeks at number one.
