What’s better than one great comedian on stage? TWO great comedians on stage and for fans in New Orleans, the audience got more than they bargained for.

Chris Rock was set to take the stage for the first of three nights as part of The Total Blackout Tour. The tour, which is his first one in almost a decade, was already highly anticipated. But a special guest just upped the ante.  To the audience’s surprise, Dave Chappelle stepped out on stage and was greeted with a standing ovation.

“Tonight, you are all part of a social experiment,” Chappelle told the crowd. “Stranger things have happened in New Orleans.”

According to Keith Spera of The New Orleans Advocate, the two powerhouse comedians shared the stage for 90 minutes, tackling everything from Trump to Rock’s divorce.

“I’ve been divorced for two glorious years.” When did he know that divorce was inevitable? “It’s an accumulation, man,” Rock responded. “I (screwed) up. I wasn’t a good husband.”

Having just come off of a successful and controversial new standup special on Netflix, Chappelle seemed to bask in the spotlight as the long time friends shared jokes.

“I just realized this might be one of the flyest things I’ve ever been a part of,” Chappelle said of the  set. “The only thing better would be if Eddie Murphy lowered from the rafters.”
