Chris Rock Returns to Late Night

Alongside starring comedian W. Kamau Bell, Chris Rock is planning his return to the small screen with a forthcoming talk show executive produced by the legendary funnyman. The as-yet-to-be named program will focus on politics, pop culture, race, religion, the media, and sex, and will air for six episodes starting in August.

The weekly show will include social and political commentary from Bell. The San Francisco-based comedian has raised a few eyebrows and cracked a lot of funny bones during his widely acclaimed one-man show, "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour," for several years. Although the pilot he later shot based on the show did not get picked up, Rock's involvement and previous successes with late night TV will surely add a magical touch to the new FX show.

Bell and Rock's show will air alongside another funnyman, Russell Brand, and his talk show, "Strangely Uplifting," which also has a six-episode order and will premiere during the summer. Does this dynamite duo of dopeness have enough funny firepower to make an impact in an already crowded arena of late night talking heads?
