R&B songstress Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson have long been deemed #CoupleGoals. Now they’re further asserting themselves as a Hollywood power duo.
The Super Bowl champion and Grammy-winning singer have inked a first-look deal with Amazon Studios to produce and develop scripted series and films, giving the streamer and retail giant initial rights to green light their projects.
"We're so excited and honored to work with Amazon Studios," The Wilsons said in a statement. "They've quickly become one of the most exciting studios in entertainment and have shown a strong belief in our vision to bring inspiring stories to the world. We can't wait to begin our work together."
The couple will create content through their company ‘Why Not You Productions,’ an off shoot of their ‘Why Not You Foundation’ that launched in 2019. The brand’s mission is to tell inspiring narratives and human interest stories “that create a sense of wonder, hope, and limitless possibility in a global audience.”

The Wilson’s latest project is a partnership with Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade called Relentless, a film based on the life of former NFL player Vernon Turner and his memoir, The Next Level: A Game I Had To Play. The couple is also executive producing the film adaptation of the New York Times best-seller Not Without Hope. There has been no word yet on what their first Amazon project will be.
Wilson is going into his 10th season as the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback, but has been very active off the field. He has a lifestyle and clothing brand called Good Man Brand and has numerous endorsement deals.
Ciara has made several chart topping hits, selling more than 23 million records globally. She has her own company called Beauty Marks Entertainment, for music, media, film, fashion and philanthropy.
The Wilsons are the latest additions to a star-studded roster of talent at Amazon Studios. The company has also signed first-look deals with Michael B. Jordan, Donald Glover, Lizzo, Serena Williams and many more.
