Craig Mack, ‘Flava in Ya Ear’ Rapper, Dead at 46

Craig Mack, the New York rapper who gave Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Records its first big hit died on Monday at the age of 46.

According to the New York Daily News, the rapper died of heart failure at a hospital in Walterboro, South Carolina. Alvin Toney, the former producer for the “Flava in Ya Ear” rapper, confirmed his death. “God bless my friend. He was a good friend of mine,” said Toney in his farewell words to his friend. The producer worked on Mack’s debut album Project: Funk Da World and his “Get Down Remix.”

Mack left the industry behind in 2012 and became a minister. He leaves behind two adult children and a wife.
