According to the New York Daily News, the rapper died of heart failure at a hospital in Walterboro, South Carolina. Alvin Toney, the former producer for the “Flava in Ya Ear” rapper, confirmed his death. “God bless my friend. He was a good friend of mine,” said Toney in his farewell words to his friend. The producer worked on Mack’s debut album Project: Funk Da World and his “Get Down Remix.”
Mack left the industry behind in 2012 and became a minister. He leaves behind two adult children and a wife.
