Soul Singer Cuba Gooding Sr. Dead at 72

According to TMZ, Cuba Gooding Sr., lead singer of the group ‘The Main Ingredient’ was found dead Thursday in his car in San Fernando Valley.

He and his wife, Shirley, had 4 children together — including actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omar Gooding.

Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that he was slumped over in his silver Jaguar, parked on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills, CA. It was reported the fire department responded to the scene at 12:58 PM PT and attempted CPR, but could not resuscitate him.

Cuba Sr. was the lead singer of the ’70s soul group The Main Ingredient, which had classics like “Everybody Plays the Fool”, “I’m So Proud” and “I Just Wanna Love You.”
