After the Dora Milajé shocked audiences with their appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, sources are pointing to a recent profile about Danai Gurira’s attorney Jamie Mandelbaum and her future in Wakanda.

“The rep—who also works with such showrunners as 911’s Tim Minear and The Handmaid Tale’s Bruce Miller—brokered a deal for actress Danai Gurira to not only reprise her role as Okoye in the upcoming Black Panther sequel but also in an origin spinoff series for Disney+,” the report read.

Disney didn’t offer any comment about the article, but it would be no surprise if Gurira does star in the Wakanda series which Ryan Coogler is developing for Disney+. This February, Coogler and his Proximity Media production company signed a five-year exclusive TV deal with Disney+ and there is also the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever feature film that’s slated for July 2022.

Recently, Florence Kasumba, who plays Ayo in Black Panther, added a layer of crossover intrigue when she appeared alongside other members of the Dora Milajé in Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

With Marvel Studios upcoming slate of top-tier TV and film content on the way, audiences are surely keeping a show about Okoye at the top of their must-see list.
