Both Drake and LeBron James could retire today and be considered two of the best in their fields.  The art of bowing out gracefully is something that has clearly been on both of their minds, as the Toronto rapper and the Ohio NBA star discussed the best way to make their exits in the below preview for HBO’s The Shop.

In the teaser clip, Drizzy shares just how important making a clean escape from the rap game is to him, telling James, “I think maybe one of my biggest concerns in my career is just to figure out how to exit gracefully. I’ve watched people overstay their welcome, and I just don’t ever want to be that guy that’s addicted to the feeling of victory, addicted to the emotion of people digesting something that they love, and get to the point I’m just feeding them something and they’re just like, ‘Yeah…’”

James then chimes in, saying having a strong and loyal team will help when it’s time to consider hanging up the towel.

“What helps with the gracefully bowing out is having people around you that was there with you from day one, that’s seen you from the beginning,” James added. “You can’t have motherf**kers around you who can’t keep it honest with you and keep it real with you. You need to have someone tell you, ‘Yo, either accept the lesser role, or you gotta tank.”
