Fran Drescher interviewed with PeopleTV’s Chatter on Wednesday and spoke about a potential comeback of the 1990s sitcom The Nanny and her dream cast including rapper Cardi B.
“I’m totally down with doing it,” Drescher said. “I don’t know what is going on with some of these networks out there because they do not seem to be hip to the fact that there’s an obsession amongst millennials for the show and moi!”
One person from the younger generation giving props to Drescher’s style on the show is Cardi B.
The “I Like It” rapper wore a leopard-print ensemble during Milan Fashion Week in September and attributed the inspiration for her look to Drescher.
The 61-year-old noticed. “I [want to] do a sitcom with Cardi B,” the actress proclaimed. “Wouldn’t she be great as my daughter?”
She continued, “She’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!’”
Since Cardi is of Hispanic and Trinidadian descent, Drescher noted that she couldn’t be her character’s daughter with onscreen love Maxwell Sheffield.
