Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry is adding director to her resume.
Berry will make her feature directorial debut in the mixed martial arts drama Bruised, Variety reports.
The movie is about a down on her luck MMA fighter, Jackie “Justice, who must face a rising star in the business, all while dealing with her 6-year-old son, who she abandoned years prior, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Berry will also star in the film, playing the role of Jackie, per THR.
The actress made history by becoming the first Black woman to win an Oscar for best actress for her role in 2001’s Monster’s Ball.
Michelle Rosenfarb wrote the script and production begins in March.
