A new Friday-inspired video promotion for Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league was uploaded by FOX Sports on Tuesday (June 6), announcing that the league’s games will air live on the network on Friday nights.
The clip is a recreation of the kitchen scenes from the cult classic movie, featuring the original cast members Craig (Ice Cube), Day-Day (Mike Epps) and Mr. Jones (John Witherspoon). It has been 16 years since the last installment in the Friday franchise, and Cube has long been asked when he would create a sequel to Friday After Next. According to the him, they are close to finishing up a draft of the script.
The BIG3 is a 3-on-3 league co-founded by the rapper-turned-actor that features former NBA superstars as players and coaches. BIG3 will be live on FOX and FS1 beginning in Houston on June 22. Get the full 2018 season schedule on BIG3.com.
