Idris Elba is a man of many talents both off-screen and on-screen. The British entertainer previewed an upcoming music video on Tuesday.
Elba captioned the Instagram post “Video coming soon B O A S T Y Wiley + Sean Paul + Stefflon Don ft Idris Elba.”
He is featured in the Boasty video along with British rappers Wiley and Stefflon Don, and dancehall artist Sean Paul. For the song, Elba recited lyrics in Jamaican patois to highlight the island’s underrated influence on London’s music scene.
“Boasty” was released in January and loosely translates to being excessively proud or ostentious.
The Luther star is mostly known for his acting chops, especially his stellar performance on the HBO hit series The Wire. Many fans are now beginning to learn that he began his career in the U.K. as a DJ.
Elba will star in Netflix’s upcoming series Turn Up Charlie, in which he plays a DJ trying to rebuild his music career while working as a nanny. He also co-created the show, which premieres on March 15.
