R&B singer India.Arie released a heartwarming video Thursday for her single "Steady Love," which centers on Black love.

Rapper/producer/activist David Banner is Arie's love interest in the
Nandy McClean-directed video, which is a portrayal of growth and affection between two dark-skinned people.

The Grammy-winning singer was purposeful in picking Banner for the role because she wanted to create representation that is rarely seen in the media.

“For this video, I wanted to depict Black love, grown-up love, commitment,” Arie told the music website Okayplayer. “A beautiful man and woman doing life together and loving each other through the inevitable ups and downs of life. I want this video to be part of a cultural conversation about creating healthy images of love and relationships in the Black Community and in the world as a whole. Images that can strengthen people.”

"Steady Love" appears on Arie's eighth studio album, WORTHY, which was released in February. Watch the journey of the love story below.
