Insecure star Natasha Rothwell has been cast in Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to Wonder Woman (2017), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor was added to an unspecified role with approximately 20 weeks left of shooting the highly anticipated film. She will join stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal in the second installment of the franchise set in the ’80s and will see Wonder Woman fighting during the Cold War.
Rothwell was formerly a writer on Saturday Night Live. She now co-stars and writes for the HBO hit series Insecure and has also appeared in the film Love, Simon.
Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
