Issa Rae just won a Peabody Award for her hit show Insecure

On Thursday, Peabody Awards Board of Jurors awarded Rae, Insecure showrunner Prentice Penny and Yvonne Orji and HBO for the hit HBO show.

“Issa Rae delivers a groundbreaking series that captures the lives of everyday young black people in Los Angeles with a fresh and authentic take. Breaking away from tired and familiar representations of “diversity” on television, this series offers a fun and intimate portrayal of work, relationships, and the ordinary experiences of the two young black women at its center,” the organization on its website.

JAY-Z recently won a Peabody for his work on the upcoming Kalief Browder in the docuseries, TIME: The Kalief Browder Story.
