Jada Pinkett Smith has never shied away from tough and thought-provoking conversations on her Red Table Talk show.
In an upcoming episode of the Facebook series, Smith and her brother, Caleeb Pinkett, sit down and talk about growing up with their father’s addiction.
“We both had a lot of resentment with our father,” Pinkett Smith said. “We had that feeling that we had to be responsible for him, but he never had to be responsible for us.”
She added that her father wanted a relationship with her once she became famous, which was an issue for her.
Pinkett Smith discussed having a fight with her father before he died over his relapse, a conversation similar to one her brother had with their dd.
