This will be Oscar and Grammy winner’s second time helming the awards show. The first time was in 2009, when the ceremony also served as a tribute to the pop icon Michael Jackson, who had died just a few days earlier.
DJ Khaled leads this year’s nominations with six, including album of the year, video of the year and two for the best collaboration category (“Wild Thought” with Rihanna and Bryson Tiller; “Top Off” with JAY-Z, Future and Beyoncé). Kendrick Lamar comes right behind the Miami native with five nods, including best hip-hop male artist. Labelmate SZA and the rap group Migos grabbed four nominations each.
The BET Awards will air at 8 p.m.ET on June 24.
