Actor Jason Mitchell has been dropped from a series of projects, his management company and his talent agency following allegations of misconduct by several women, reports Deadline.

On Monday, the media outlet reported that the actor was dismissed from the Netflix Original film Desperados after producers began an immediate and “thorough” investigation into claims of an alleged off-set incident.

Reps for United Talent Agency and Authentic Talent & Literary Management confirmed to Deadline that Mitchell is no longer a client but would not comment on what led to his departure.

The site also claims Fox 21 TV Studios opted not to pick up Mitchell’s option after Lena Waithe’s The Chi, in which he stars in a lead role, was picked up for a third season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Tiffany Boone, who played Mitchell’s girlfriend on the Showtime series, was among several actresses on the show who made complaints against the actor.

Boone reportedly “made repeated complaints of sexual harassment and allegedly felt so unsafe with her co-star that at times her fiancé, Dear White People actor Marque Richardson, came to set when she shot scenes with him.”

Sources told THR Boone was released at her request after she informed producers at Fox 21 she could no longer work with Mitchell. The actor was “retained” following Boone’s complaints, but he was ultimately let go for reasons that have not been announced.

THR claims Mitchell has also left the Netflix Original film Good Universe. Sources told the outlet all three of Mitchell’s co-stars on the film had complained about Mitchell before filming even began.

Mitchell rose to critical acclaim after a breakout role as Eazy-E in the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton. He previously appeared in Kong: Skull Island, Detroit, Mudbound and The Mustang.

The actor has yet to address the claims made against him.
