Swizz Beatz co-presented the opening of DREAMWEAVERS, a group exhibition curated by Nicola Vassell at the UTA Artist Space in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night. More than a thousand guests including JAY-Z,Beyoncé, Jessie Williams
DREAMWEAVERS features the work of several prominent African-American artists such as Carrie Mae Weems, Kehinde Wiley, Kerry James Marshall
According to a press release obtained by EBONY, the exhibition artists “sit within the powerful Black renaissance of this era, affirmed by contemporary markets and media. They observe the collision of withered civil virtue, passionate resistance, and vast cultural influence. From a collective unconscious marked by oppression, rather than repression, new imaginative forces rise to manifest the surreal and narrate the illogic of our time.”
DREAMWEAVERS will be on display at the UTA until April 13. Click through the gallery below to see who attended the opening reception.
