EBONY recently caught up with the incomparable Jenifer Lewis, whose memoir, The Mother of Black Hollywood, has been flying off the shelves since it’s November 2017 release. Why you ask? Because Mama Lewis keeps it 100 at all times.
“I’m honest, I’m raw and I’m the truth. Everyone is thirsty for the truth right now.”
Lewis also spoke on the impact of ABC comedy Black-ish, where she stars alongside Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Lawrence Fishburne, saying, “We entertain and we inspire…this show is speaking to the pressing issues of our time.”
The stage and screen veteran also spoke on the power of women today while taking a clear shot at the lewd comments of certain men in office.
“Women are unstoppable right now. Nobody’s grabbing us by the pu**y, nobody’s grabbing us by the anything anymore! Am I clear, 45?
