A Week in the Life of Kanye

Kanye West sure knows how to build up hype. With his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo, finally set to drop today (so he says), the sagacious, explosive Yeezy pulled off some pretty interesting publicity stunts to keep his name ringing in these social media streets. (And that wasn’t easy in a post-“Formation” world.)

You can’t be blamed for needing a cheat-sheet, so here’s a brief timeline of events leading up to the release of TLOP since that whole yesterday’s news Wiz Khalifa-Amber Rose blowup.

Kanye West posts a picture of himself, André 3000, Puff Daddy, Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, The-Dream, French Montana and Kirk Franklin together in the studio.

Yeezy renames album to TLOP. Then, says that Bill Cosby is innocent.

Reveals that he cried while making “Father Stretch My Hands,” a song on TLOP about his dad.

Reveals TLOP track list and album cover.

Yesterday, West debuts TLOP during concert at Madison Square Garden.

Twitter compares Kanye West to Michael Jackson.

GOOD Friday continues with the release of new song, “30 Hours,” with a tweet promising the album will be released later today.
