When King Kendrick Lamar dropped “The Heart Part 4” and sent shockwaves throughout the rap industry, he gave his peers until April 7 to get their ish together. Many assumed the ominous date would be the day his new album dropped, but…today’s the day and the album ain’t here.

Of course, Kendrick’s his fans were particularly bummed.

Thankfully, hip-hop heads won’t have to wait very long for Kendrick’s new project. The still untitled album will drop NEXT Friday, April 14th, though you can pre-order it now.

While we await Kdot’s new joint, we do know he’s working with some legendary producers to craft his sound. So far, Mike WiLL Made-It, BADBADNOTGOOD, Greg Kurstin, Cardo, 9th Wonder, Sounwave, and The Alchemist are listed on iTunes as contributors, so it looks like Kendrick is coming with some HEAT once again.

Since bursting on the scene with his debut Good Kid, M.A.D. City, Kendrick Lamar has become one of rap’s most talked about talents. His lyrical skills and ability to literally rap his face off has put the Compton-born emcee in many Top 5 conversation. After two hit albums, and raising the expectations of music fans, it’ll be interesting to see Kdot can do it again.
