R&B singer Keyshia Cole posted a heartbreaking message on Wednesday revealing that her mother, Frankie Lons, has relapsed in her battle with substance abuse.
Cole has been vocal about the turmoil she has faced since childhood due to her mother’s addiction. “Every time my mom relapse, it breaks my heart more than it’s already been broken,” the singer-songwriter wrote on Instagram.
Throughout the years, Lons was in recovery and trying to mend her relationships with her children. Several of those moments were shown on the reality shows Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is and Frankie and Neffe. However, Cole is aware that it’s a constant fight and she urged others in similar situations to learn to cope. “I’m hoping, if any of u are dealing with a family member who’s battling with drug addiction, that you, yourself are learning how to cope with the struggle of it all,” she wrote.
Despite her pain, the “You” singer wants her mother to know she loves and misses her.
