Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons went their separate ways in 2006 but have remained great friends and co-parents to daughters Aoki Lee and Ming Lee.
The designer recently addressed the slew of sexual assault allegations being thrown at her ex-husband, sharing her thoughts via Instagram.
“I add my voice to the chorus of those speaking out against harassment and violence in all its forms,” the 42-year-old mother wrote Thursday.
“I have known Russell for over 25 years. We were close friends, married, divorced, and have remained friends, co-parents and partners throughout it all. These allegations against him are nothing like the person I have known in all that time. I have known him to be a caring and supportive father and someone who has worked tirelessly to uplift disenfranchised communities.”
The Def Jam founder has been accused of various levels of sexual misconduct by several women, including a photographer who is currently suing the mogul for $5 million for allegedly raping her at his Hollywood Hills, California home.
Simmons maintains his innocence.
