Erika Alexander, best known for role as Maxine Shaw on the ’90s sitcom Living Single, has been added to the second season of the CW series Black Lightning, according to Deadline.

On Thursday, Warner Bros Television said Alexander would portray Perenna, a therapist with telepathic abilities that helps Jennifer (China Anne McClain) get a handle on her supernatural abilities, for three episodes.

Black Lightning, starring Cress Williams, is a superhero drama about the DC Comics character created by Tony Isabella who made his debut in April 1977.  Black Lightning is the second African-American superhero in the DC Universe, but he is the first Black character to have his own series.

In recent years, Alexander has appeared in the Oscar-winning film Get Out and the OWN series Queen Sugar.

Season Two of Black Lightning is scheduled to premiere on the CW on Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. EST.
