Lupita Nyong’o has signed on for John Woo’s remake of his classic film The Killer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film will be a joint project between Universal Pictures and eOne. Woo is also back to direct.
Studio executives have described the movie as a “blistering thriller that blends espionage with extraordinary stunts, an assassin is sworn to protect a young woman she accidentally blinded during a mob hit years prior.”
Nyong’o will be taking on the role of the assassin that was played by Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-Fat in the 1989 original.
