Melvin Jackson Jr. sat down with EBONY.com before votes were cast for the 70th Emmy Awards. He spoke about Emmy season and what television content he appreciated.
“I’m a fan of movies and a fan of TV first,” Jackson said. “I’m always looking to see how I can better my craft as an actor, writer and producer.”
He went on to reveal that he watched several of the shows and movies listed for Emmy consideration because he is a voter and part of the Television Academy. The This Eddie Murphy Role is Mine, Not Yours series creator said he liked the Netflix series Ozark and Glow, which have received 5 and 10 nominations respectively, for this year’s Emmy Awards.
Jackson is also nominated in the Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. The 2018 Emmy Awards will air tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST on NBC.
