Former model Melyssa Ford, 41, is recovering after sustaining significant injuries in a near-fatal car wreck in Los Angeles on Thursday (June 28), reports Page Six. An 18-wheel tractor trailer allegedly clipped the back of her Jeep’s tire and sent the car into a tailspin on the Ventura Freeway.
Ford was en route to her friend, Zena Foster’s bridal shower when the accident occurred. She “sustained serious head injuries including a skull fracture, concussion and bleeding in her brain amongst other severe cuts and bruises,” a rep stated to Us Weekly.
Friends of the TV and radio personality shared the news of the accident and the extent of Ford’s injuries on social media including talk show host Claudia Jordan, who posted a photo of emergency personnel tending to Ford beside the totaled vehicle. Jordan also revealed that the 41-year-old, “doesn’t even remember this as she has a huge gash in her head and blood on the brain.” She also requested that anyone one with information come forward because the 18-wheeler is still at large.
According to Ford’s rep, “God and her seatbelt saved her life.” She is recovering under “constant observation” at a Los Angeles hospital.
