Although Black culture has long influenced fashion, members of the community have rarely been the focus or face of the industry. With several Black women dominating the covers of September issues of magazines and a call for greater inclusion, EBONY will explore New York Fashion Week 2018 including our favorite of Black designers, models, and trailblazers of the rag trade.
Ballerina Misty Copeland is celebrating her 36th birthday with the release of her latest athletic-wear collection with Under Armour.
Copeland released her first collection for the brand earlier this year, featuring versatile and stylish pieces for spring 2018. The dancing diva has now returned with even more designs for the line.
“This collection is about being able to mix it up and not having just one look,” Copeland shared in a statement. “That’s who we are as women. We have so many sides to us and it’s nice to have that balance and not to be told you have to be one way or another.”
The Misty Copeland Signature Collection includes a crop top and legging set, a bomber, dress, sweaters and tanks, and range in price from $50 to $180 USD. The collection is available for purchase on UA.com, in Under Armour Brand Houses, and at select Macy’s locations.
