Morgan Freeman: “We Invented God”

Morgan Freeman

As the new host of the Science Channel’s “Through the Wormhole,” a show that examines mysteries of existence, Morgan Freeman talked about his personal beliefs with the channel. Surprising, the actor, who has played God in two movies, has nontraditional beliefs about the creator. "What we get is theories from our earlier prophets. Now, people who think that God invented us think that the Earth can't be more than 6,000 years old. So I guess it's a question of belief.”

The 75-year-old actor went on the say, “My belief system doesn't support a creator as such, as we can call God, who created us in His/Her/Its image. So if I believe in God, and I do, it's because I think I'm God.” While Freeman doesn’t directly claim to be an atheist or agnostic, his theory caught many off guard. “If I believe in God, and I do, it’s because I think I’m God.”
