Nas, Lauryn Hill Announce Joint Tour

Nas and Lauryn Hill

Music veterans Nas and Lauryn Hill will be hitting the road together this fall for a recently announced joint concert tour. Titled LIfe is Good/Black Rage, the tour kicks off in Maryland with Nas performing a string a solo sets, as Hill will join him on the stage in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 29. The name "Black Rage" is also reportedly the title of Hill's forthcoming fall single, which centers on the "derivative effects of racial inequality and abuse," according to the LA Times.

The "If I Ruled The World," duo have used the juxtaposing titles of their respective tracks to highlight a few social concerns, as Hill raised in the press announcement.

“I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it,” Hill said in a statement. “I've been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization. As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving.”

“This is history,” added Nas in the statement. “Better late than never. Life is good!”

Tickets for the tour go on sale today.
