Last November, Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was found guilty of predatory sexual assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child. Maraj, 39, faces up to life in prison for the repeated rape of his stepdaughter, said to have started in their home when she was 11 while he was married to her mother. Maraj is looking to overturn the conviction, and his mother, Carol Maraj, is ready to share some little-known facts about the trial.
The family matriarch took to Twitter last weekend weekend to promote a new “tell-all interview” on The Hip Hop Hood Report with Charles Fisher & the Fitness Sheriff, in which she will “share shocking news the court don’t want you to know.”
Those living in New York City can watch the interview tomorrow, August 8, at 11 p.m. or August 11 at 3 p.m. on channel 20 (Optimum) or channel 37 (Verizon). Others can stream the interview at patv.org/livestream.
Carol also testified during the trial in her son’s defense, according to BET. Sister Nicki, whom Jelani’s lawyers claimed would also testify, chose not to, and hasn’t publicly commented on her older brother’s case or conviction.
