One Tweet Broke the News of Houston Death

In case you mistakenly thought that the Associated Press (AP) or even TMZ was first on their news game the evening of Whitney Houston's passing, think again. It was a sole tweet; one from @BarBeeBritt who asked simply, "is Whitney Houston really dead?" This was at 4:02 PM Pacific Time.

At 4:15PM @AjaDiorNavy tweeted: "omgg. my aunt tiffany who worked for whitney houston found her dead in the tub. such ashame & sad :-(" She clearly offered details that would'nt be released to the public until 24-hours later.

At 4:57, nearly an hour after @BarBeeBritt's tweet, AP tweeted the official word from Houston's publicist that the signer was dead.

All we have to say is #gosocialmedia.
