For over 20 years, Chuck Brown has been the face of the funk-influenced music genre of Go-Go. But, many fans of the D.C.-based musician have been wondering where he’s been for the past few months after missing several booked appearances. “He has pneumonia,” said KK Brown, the daughter of the music legend and band member. “He is in the hospital, he is recovering and people need to just keep praying for him.”

Initially treated for arthritis and a removed blood clot, sources say these health issues later resulted in pneumonia. On the 75-year-old’s official website it states, “Mr. Brown’s tour schedule is temporarily unavailable pending his recovery from a recent illness. When his schedule resumes, it will be posted here.”

Brown, who is known for hits “Bustin’ Loose” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing,” has worked with musicians spanning from Jill Scott to James Brown.
