‘Sexual Healing,’ the upcoming Marvin Gaye biopic directed by Julian Temple, may never be completed. Cross your fingers, but the film—originally cast with Lenny Kravitz but eventually starring fan favorite Jesse L. Martin—is currently in search of a distributor and funds to complete the 70% of footage shot (according to Shadow & Act). Original distributor Focus Features International has pulled out, and cash flow problems have been reported.

Still, what exists looks just beautiful. The film focuses on the recording of Gaye’s bestselling 1982 comeback album Midnight Love, in Ostend, Belgium. Here’s hoping they finish!
