Modern women making history by telling her story too!
Last week our ever impactful #HiltonCelebrates #EbonyWomenUp series made a stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and of course, it was nothing short of amazing. Attracting over 200 attendees, the Women Up empowerment brunch series, brought to you by EBONY magazine and global hospitality leader, Hilton, took place over at The Logan hotel, where ladies were sure to net-werk the room.
Guests indulged in fine cuisine and cocktails, courtesy of Hennessy and Belvedere, while Miss Jessie‘s was sure to put the “good” in “goodie bags,” offering ladies treats for their tresses, courtesy of the popular haircare brand. Many thanks to our friends over at Comcast for their show of support in women empowerment as well!
Women Up is a brunch series dedicated to Black women doing extraordinary work in their respective fields. While previous events honored women in everything from sports to the fashion and entertainment world, this time around, Women Up saluted our sisters in Business and Technology, with a power-panel of remarkable women in the industry. Moderated by founder and CEO of C Suite Coach, Angelina Darrisaw, the speakers included:
1. Rosalind Hudnell, President, Intel Foundation
2. Danielle Lee, Global Head of Partner Solutions, Spotify
3. Adrienne Lofton, SVP Global Brand Management, Under Armour Inc.
4. Keesha Boyd ED, Multicultural Consumer Services, Comcast Corporation
During the panel, the speakers of honor addressed everything from climbing the corporate ladder, to stressing the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. When the topic of wage discrimination and asking for a promotion came up, Rosalind Hudnell firmly stated:
“We work for money. Don’t ever forget that. And whatever you’re asking for, you’re probably worth more. So ask for it. Because the worst they can say is ‘no.’
