Rico has had his hand on an array of Grammy Award-winning projects including Beyoncé’s ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’ and Usher’s ‘Raymond v. Raymond.’
Wednesday, The Recording Academy announced its newly elected national officers, who will join the Board of Trustees. Among the new appointees are Tammy Hurt, Rico Love, and Om'Mas Keith.
"I'm in awe of the amazingly talented group that's been elected to lead this new era of the Academy and really excited at the possibilities as I start this journey with Tammy, Rico, Om'Mas, and Christine," said President and CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., in a press release obtained by EBONY. "I know this group is going to do great work as we continue to transform the Academy and support the music community."
Hurt, who has worked with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and is the managing partner of the entertainment firm, Placement Music, will serve as the Chair of the Board. Rico Love, née Richard Butler, was elected Vice-Chair. Butler has had his hand on an array of Grammy Award-winning projects including Beyoncé's I Am Sasha Fierce and Usher's Raymond v. Raymond. Om'Mas Keith, who is a founding member of SaRa and garnered a Grammy for his work on Frank Ocean's Channel Orange, was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Lastly, Christine Albert will continue in her role as Chair Emeritus.
