Get ready for a thrilling venture as Rihanna takes her “badgal” persona to another level as Marion Crane in A&E’s hit series, Bates Motel tonight.
The role was originally played by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho, which inspired the television series.
However, with Rihanna on the roster, don’t expect the role to just be a remaking of Leigh’s work. The executive producers of the show describe the new Marion Crane as “edgier and sassier and less of an emotional victim.”
“She’s a more contemporary woman trying to handle her own life and get what she want and when things happen that she doesn’t understand, she tries to figure them out,” Kerry Ehrin, an executive producer of the series shared in an interview with USA Today.
Rihanna teased her appearance on tonight’s season 1, episode 5 with the below plugger.
Get ready, because apparently we’re in a for a treat with BadGal RiRi’s performance debut tonight on A&E. Tune-in: 10 ET/PT. She’s also slated to make a second appearance on March 27, titled “Marion.”
