Continuing on her one-album-per-year run, Rihanna has released "Diamonds," the first single off of her forthcoming seventh album. In an interview last week, the Bajan pop star had described the track as "happy" and "hippie," and yesterday she tweeted the lyrics in anticipation of its premiere. "Find light in the beautiful sea / I choose to be happy / You and I, you and I / We're like diamonds in the sky," read the first verse.
According to the Twitter timelines of Rihanna and Sia (of "Wild One" fame), Sia contributed to the songwriting and melody for "Diamonds," while popular producers StarGate lent their own touch. Later today, Rihanna tweeted a line from the song, attaching a previously taken Instagram photograph of her bejeweled hands rested over her late grandmother Dolly's hand. "Diamonds" is now available on iTunes.
