The chart-topping Rihanna and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson have reportedly been shortlisted to play Whitney Houston in a film following her personal and professional life, from her Newark teenage years to her tumultuous battle with addiction. Other actresses being considered include Vivica J. Fox, Jordin Sparks and newcomer Willow Smith, who would likely play a young Houston.

While actress Meagan Good has been claiming that Houston and she had been in multiple talks for Good to play the singer in a future biopic, Good's name has yet to officially surface as a contender for the part. Former 'Dreamgirl' Jennifer Hudson clearly has the vocal chops and dramatic flair to successfully capture Whitney Houston's musical flair, but some question whether her acting abilities are seasoned enough. As for Rih Rih, who has made her acting debut in the upcoming blockbuster "Battleship," the young star certainly seems to have no problem tapping into dark places for performance motivation, as seen in her "We Found Love" video. However, Houston's part would most likely require an experienced actress who is able to tackle the wide array of phases in her life.

Which of these actresses and singers would be able to pull off a stellar Whitney Houston performance? Or, should a fresh face be given the opportunity to shine on the silver screen?
