Russell Simmons has been accused of rape by another woman. Alexia Norton Jones, an actress, model and the granddaughter of the late publisher W.W. Norton, told Variety that she was allegedly raped in 1990 by Simmons.  The number of women accusing the hip-hop mogul of varying degrees of sexual assault and harassment is now at over a dozen.

Jones said the incident happened in Simmons’ apartment after a date. She alleges that the ordeal took place rather quickly despite her repeatedly telling him no. “It was such a fast attack,” she told the publication. “He pulled my dress up. I must have said no seven to 10 times.” At the time of the alleged rape, Jones was 31-years-old.

She said Simmons continued to contact her and approach her at events following that night. His access to her was common because the pair moved in the same social circle. He was also a friend of her father’s, whom she never told of the assault.

Jones said she had forgiven the Def Jam co-founder.

Last spring, however,  she reported the incident to the NYPD, but the statute of limitations expired on the allegation. Despite her trauma, Jones does is not seeking monetary damages.

In a statement Variety, Simmons denied the allegation. “At no time did she share these feelings about her first sexual encounter with me, which took place roughly 28 years ago.” He also alleged that they dated for about five months and presented a statement from his driver to support his claim. However, Jones denies ever dating him.
