Just hours before a high-profile radio interview, “Hunnid” rapper Safaree Samuels was robbed at gunpoint. Two suspects have since been apprehended, one of whom, Shawn Harewood, being a former friend of the Love & Hip Hop star.
Footage of the actual armed robbery has now emerged, with TMZ obtaining the video which shows the rapper being held up by two men while rocking his signature red fur coat. See the security cam footage below.
A teary-eyed Samuels shared the sad news of the robbery with Angie Martinez just hours after it occurred, saying the thieves took over $150,000 worth of jewelry. Through tears, the reality star revealed, “Two dudes with guns ran up on me. They had me face down on the floor with a gun to my head. They just took everything.”
“This was not some random stick up attempt, this was an ambush specifically targeting Safaree by several men with guns,” the rapper’s lawyer told reporters, according to Vibe. “The actual facts of what happened are chilling and it is only by the grace of god that this incident did not have a different ending and for that we are extremely grateful.”
