On the heels of his first single after a short hiatus, Sam Smith returns with the accompanying video for “Too Good At Goodbyes.” An ode to couples in distress, Sam shares his thoughts on getting accustomed to heartbreaks and goodbyes.
Thank you all for your beautiful comments about the TGAG video. This one is a love letter to England & to love. It's always about love.
The visual finds Smith all cozy while he wanders around the ambrosial outdoors with only the scenery as his company. However, the sorrowful undertones of the track are soon personified by different couples on the verge of a breakup. “This song is about a relationship I was in and it’s basically about getting good at getting dumped,” Smith said in a press release. “It’s been a long while since I’ve put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come.”
