Sir The Baptist & Brandy Take on Domestic Violence in Gospel-Tinged ‘Deliver Me’ (VIDEO)

Sir The Baptist’s video, “Deliver Me,” is a poignant visual that addresses the ills of domestic violence, especially as it pertains to those who claim to follow the word of God.

The Brandy-assisted single finds Baptist sharing the true story of a woman who regularly suffered abuse at the hands of her husband, who happened to also be a deacon in their church.

“I remember my sister Mary/Would get beat by husband who was the deacon in the church/And the whole church knew/But no one would say anything/But I remember so clearly she was in the kitchen washing dishes and she would encourage herself, quietly because she didn’t want to start anything.”
