Snoop Dogg had a long history and friendship with late rapper, 2Pac.
The west coast rhymers joined forces under the Suge Knight ran Death Row Records, and went on to record “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” from Pac’s 1996 album, All Eyez On Me.
Now, Snoop will have the honor of inducting his friend Tupac Shakur into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the April 7th ceremony in Brooklyn. In addition to the induction, TMZ tipped off that a special three-song tribute to Pac will also be a part of the ceremony. Reportedly, Dr. Dre is scheduled to perform alongside Snoop. The full line-up has yet to be confirmed, according to Rolling Stone.
In a 2013 interview with Vlad TV, Snoop spoke about Pac’s legacy, describing him as “one of the greatest philosophers of the world.” Check out the three-minute clip below.
The 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony takes place at the Barclays Center on April 7.
